Ralph Fiennes, who starred as Lord Voldemort in “Harry Potter,” says he would love to play the character again in a future movie.

Fiennes discussed his thoughts on returning to the wizarding world after Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav mentioned the possibility of working with author J.K. Rowling on additional “Harry Potter” movies.

Fiennes responded positively when asked by Variety if he would be interested in reprising his role as Voldemort. “Sure, of course. There’s no doubt about that,” he said.

Zaslav said earlier this month, “We’re going to have a tremendous focus on franchises.” “For fifteen years, we haven’t produced a ‘Harry Potter’ film. Over the past 25 years, a large portion of Warner Bros. Motion Pictures’ earnings have come from the ‘Harry Potter’ and “DC” films.”

“If we can do something with J.K. on ‘Harry Potter’ going forward… What are we doing with a lot of the big franchises that we have? We’re focused on franchises,” Zaslav added.

Ralph Fiennes backed Rowling’s views on transgender issues

Fiennes defended Rowling last month against what he called “disgusting” criticism of her stance on transgender issues.

The actor told the New York Times, “J.K. Rowling has written these fantastic stories about empowerment, about young children finding themselves as human beings. It’s about how you grow to be a better, stronger, more morally focused human being. The verbal abuse aimed at her is disgusting and appalling,” he added.

In June 2020, Rowling faced criticism for a series of tweets in which she claimed that addressing gender identity undermined the existence of biological sex.

Fiennes came to her defense, saying that although he is not a woman, he could relate to the author’s points of view.
